Rongxinda Film & TV was founded in Beijing in 1995 by renowned filmmakers Li Shaohong, Li Xiaowan, Zeng Nianping, and others. It has been committed to joint planning and investment with domestic and overseas film and television institutions. After nearly 20 years of steady development, it has become a highly reputable enterprise in the industry.
Since its establishment in 1995, Rongxinda Film & TV has completed production of numerous films and TV series. Its produced feature films include "Pink" which won the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Achievement at the Berlin International Film Festival, the "Best Director Award" at the China College Student Film Festival, and the "Golden Peacock Award" at the International Film Festival of India; "Family Portrait" (Forty Unmarried) which won the "Critics' Award" at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland; "Red Suit" which won the "Best Film Award" at the China Huabiao Film Awards; "Spring in a Small Town" which won the "Best Film Award" at the Venice Film Festival; "Babe in Love" which won the "Innovation Award" at the China College Student Film Festival and the "Best Actress Award" from the China Film Directors' Guild; "Stolen Life" which won the "Best Film Award" at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the "Golden Film Award" for Best Feature Film at the Dubai International Film Festival, the "Best Film Award" at the Milan, Italy, Asian, African, and Latin American Film Festival, and the highest award "Golden Crow Award" at the Kerala International Film Festival in India. The TV series produced by the company include "Thunderstorm" which won the "Feitian Award" for Chinese TV series; "Palace of Desire" which won both the "Feitian Award" and the "Golden Eagle Award" for Chinese TV series; "Orange Turned Red" and "April Rhapsody" which won the "Best TV Series Award" at the Asian Television Awards; and more than 20 TV series including "A Dream of Red Mansions" which repeatedly broke ratings records on CCTV and various satellite channels.
While solidifying its presence in domestic film and television production, Rongxinda Film & TV actively develops cooperation with overseas film and television production institutions, providing consulting services, production assistance, or co-production for their film and television shoots in China. It has cooperated with THIRTEEN WNET NEW YORK in the United States to produce "WARRIORS OF VIRTUE 2"; co-produced the feature film "Night Run" with Taiwan's Zongheng International Film and Television Production Company; assisted American Lion's Gate Films in the production of director John Woo's film "Sang Sang and the Little Cat" (one of ten short films themed "The Forgotten Children" sponsored by UNICEF); assisted in the German film "John Rabe"; assisted in the Brazilian film "Love Beyond Earth"; and has repeatedly assisted American Oscar-winning director Alan Miller in filming documentaries such as "Turandot - Temple of Heaven Version".
