甘肃省白银市银光中学创建于1968年，前身是甘肃省银光化学公司的一所子弟中学。2006年4月划归白银区政府管辖，是一所全日制完全中学。我校占地面积71亩，绿化面积达38%，三季有花，四季常青，被评为省级绿色学校先进单位”，有园林校园之称，是学生读书学习的理想场所。学校现有教职工145名，教学班30个，学生1500多名。学校办学历史悠久，办学声誉良好。
