集团隶属于国资委直属世界500强企业中国建筑材料集团有限公司。在中国建材集团战略部署下，凯盛科技集团大力发展新能源材料产业，于2014年7月收购世界知名CIGS薄膜太阳电池模组制造商-法国圣戈班集团旗下拥有制造高性能CIGS薄膜太阳电池模组的核心技术的德国AVANCIS公司。并于2015年8月与蚌埠市人民政府签订薄膜太阳能电池项目合作协议，项目投资100亿元，注册成立凯盛光伏材料有限公司，注册资金10亿元。项目采用铜铟镓硒薄膜太阳能电池生产技术，一期投资20亿元，形成300MW生产能力。项目达产生效，将在推进CIGS薄膜太阳能电池生产设备的大规模国产化，全线打通薄膜太阳能电池产业链，以关键材料的快速研发孵化推进中国新能源产业快速、健康、可持续发展，逐步在国内形成1.5GW铜铟镓硒薄膜太阳能电池组件生产能力。
