1972年5月现任董事长侯文兴先生创立高兴化工厂于楠梓专门从事醇酸树脂制造。1977年9月为因应需求扩充规模一倍，迁建于现址。改登录名称为「长川化工股份有限公司」。1979年投入自动化的生产设备，再扩充100%产能，仍以生产醇酸树脂为主，此后为求产品之多元化，分别于1980年及1981年开发生产涂料用压克力树脂及胺基树脂，广受好评。为使本公司加速发展，特敦聘国内外化工人才，做专题研究，1987年再推出各类饱和及不饱和聚酯树脂，发展至今，目前树脂年产规模约为一万二千吨，行销海内外。位于中国广东惠州长川化工科技有限公司新厂，已于 2011年七月开始正式投产。*期年产能约二万四千吨。
