PLA Rocket Force General Hospital

The Rocket Force General Hospital is a tertiary hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. Its predecessor was the 262nd Hospital of the Beijing Military Region, founded in May 1954; in September 1999, it was officially established as the Second Artillery General Hospital.
The hospital is located at No. 16 Xinjiekou Outer Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, covering an area of 59 mu, with 1,080 beds and 44 departments. It is currently a clinical teaching hospital for the Second, Third, and Fourth Military Medical Universities, a medical research institute of Beijing Normal University, and a joint graduate training base for medical schools of Wuhan University and Liaoning Medical University. The hospital has 74 doctoral and postdoctoral staff, 175 master's degree holders, and has appointed 3 academicians (Wang Zhonggao, Huang Zhiqiang, Fan Shangda) and over 200 renowned experts as guest professors. Among its staff, 4 serve as deputy directors of the Military Medical Science and Technology Committee, 11 as standing committee members, and 52 as committee members. The hospital has established 5 military medical specialty centers (the Military Hepatobiliary, Gastrointestinal and General Surgery Specialty Center, the Military Anorectal Disease Specialty Center, the Military Nuclear Radiation Injury Medical Monitoring and Prevention Research Center, the Military Stroke Medical Treatment and Research Center, and the Military Psychological Health Guidance Center) and 10 Second Artillery medical specialty centers. It has 5 national drug clinical trial professional specialties, 1 postdoctoral research workstation, and 1 key laboratory for logistics scientific research conditions construction under the '12th Five-Year Plan' of the military.
Currently, it possesses 2,863 units of internationally advanced medical equipment, including the Da Vinci robot, 500-row gem CT, PET-CT, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) knife, with a total value of 410 million yuan. In the past two years, it has won 2 second prizes and over 60 third prizes in military medical achievement awards, undertaken 2 national '863' projects, 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, and 35 other projects, with research funding exceeding 20 million yuan.
In recent years, the hospital has been rated as an 'Advanced Hospital Serving the Troops' by the military, an advanced unit in Beijing for fighting SARS, a national advanced unit for contribution to charity, a model unit for spiritual civilization in the capital, an advanced unit in the capital's health system for earthquake relief, an advanced unit for support in the 60th anniversary of the National Day parade, and a national heroic collective for earthquake relief. Vice President Li Shujun was awarded the 39th 'Nightingale' Medal and was elected as a delegate to the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
