Shanghai UAI Robot Technology Joint-stock Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as UAI) was founded in August 2009 by Mr. Zhu Haihong, who holds a doctorate from the United States. It is one of the leading manufacturers of robots and drive control systems in the industry.
Since its establishment, UAI has adhered to the corporate spirit of "seeking truth and being pragmatic, pioneering and innovating, unity and dedication, and pursuing excellence," attracting many high-quality talents. Chairman Dr. Zhu Haihong graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Robot Automatic Control. He has successively engaged in research and development in robotics at institutions such as the Singapore Robotics Research Center, a Singaporean enterprise (Singapore Technologies), and the Intelligent Machinery Laboratory at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a profound theoretical foundation and practical experience in the most advanced robot design techniques and concepts, and has received honors such as "Shanghai Pujiang Talent," "Changzhou Top Figure," "Zhangjiang Outstanding Talent," "Shanghai Municipal Expert," "Shanghai Craftsman," and "Pudong 30 Years 30 People." UAI has formed a high-quality talent team with returned overseas Chinese doctoral degree holders as the core, a nationwide marketing network center, a complete range of supporting products, and a high-quality talent team, making it a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production, marketing, and service. Currently, among the company's R&D personnel, 20% hold doctoral degrees and 50% hold master's degrees, all graduated from well-known domestic and international institutions with rich industry experience.
UAI has accumulated 47 authorized intellectual property rights, including 8 invention patents, and another 21 invention patent applications are in process. In 2012, UAI received the "National Technology-based SME Technology Innovation Fund"; in 2014, it was rated as a "Key Entrepreneurial Enterprise Funded by the Pudong New Area Science and Technology Development Fund Incubator"; in 2015, it was awarded the "First Batch of High-tech Enterprises in Shanghai"; in 2018, it passed the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System certification; in 2019, it was rated as a "Pudong New Area Enterprise R&D Institution"; and in 2020, it was rated as a "Shanghai Specialized, Refined, Characteristic, and Innovative SME."
The company's business is mainly divided into three parts: first, the module business, where the company continues to wholesale standard motion controllers to enterprises such as Hangzhou Keli and Beijing Jialande, maintaining a certain basic sales volume, expected to reach approximately 30 million yuan this year, with an annual growth rate of 15% in the future; second, the robot business, where the company focuses on developing customized motion control solutions for machines, which are high-end products with a gross margin of nearly 60% and will be the company's main profit-generating products; the third is the floating ball matrix business, a cultural creative product developed based on the company's self-developed industrial automatic control system, which is highly favored in the market.
