华东有色金属城自2005年5月建成运营以来，共吸纳来自全国各地的客商800余家，废杂铜、废铅、废不锈钢、废铝及铝合金及锌、镍、锡等各类废旧有色金属年回收交易量达到200多万吨，其中废杂铜40多万吨。回收业务辐射全国各地，带动从事回收、拆解、物流、餐饮、生产加工等从业人员5万多人，是我国长江以北*大的废旧有色金属集散基地。华东有色金属城的建成运营，不仅为山东金升有色集团有限公司的再生铜产业提供了充足的原材料保障，同时也为其它再生铜、再生铅、再生铝、再生不锈钢等有色金属加工企业提供了有效的原料来源。2015年华东有色金属城扩建提升项目已进入实施阶段，一期工程占地1000亩。目前，场院式、门面式建设工程已基本完成，年内可建成运营。扩建提升后的华东有色金属城年回收集聚各类废旧有色金属将达到300多万吨，其配套设施、服务功能国内一流，并将成为国内*大的再生有色金属集散基地
