Vimicro Electronics Group was founded in Zhongguancun, Beijing by several Silicon Valley Ph.D. entrepreneurs with the proposal and support of the Ministry of Information Industry of China. Vimicro is dedicated to developing advanced digital multimedia technologies and has successfully launched its 'Starlight Series' chip products into domestic and international markets, applied in rapidly growing technology fields such as computers, broadband, mobile communications, and information appliances. Its products have been adopted in large quantities by internationally renowned companies such as Samsung, Philips, HP, Fujitsu, and Lenovo.
