Shenzhen Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (Futian), formerly Futian District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, was established on October 26, 1992. It is a comprehensive Grade III Class A traditional Chinese medicine hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, healthcare, and rehabilitation. On July 8, 2015, the Futian District People's Government of Shenzhen and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine jointly built Shenzhen Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine on the basis of the former Futian District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The hospital is now managed as a directly affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. It is one of the top 100 hospitals in the national traditional Chinese medicine system, a national standardized training base for resident doctors of traditional Chinese medicine, a national standardized metabolic disease management center, the Sixth Clinical Medical College of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, the Shenzhen Research Institute of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology Medical Center. It has won many honors including Five-Star Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, National Innovative Hospital for Improving Medical Services, Outstanding Unit for Continuous Improvement of Hospital Management, Guangdong Provincial Civilized Unit, and Shenzhen Civilized Unit.

The hospital has 30 clinical departments including emergency department, cardiovascular department, encephalopathy department, pulmonary disease department, spleen and stomach disease department, oncology department, surgery department, obstetrics department, pediatrics department, neonatology department, acupuncture department, tuina department, rehabilitation department, orthopedics and traumatology department, preventive treatment department, pain department, and intensive care medicine department, 13 medical technology departments, and 14 community health centers. The hospital has 8 key specialty departments of traditional Chinese medicine in Guangdong Province, 7 key (characteristic) specialty departments of traditional Chinese medicine in Shenzhen, and 1 key clinical specialty department in Futian District. The hospital has 5,515 advanced domestic and foreign equipment items, with a total equipment value of 498 million yuan.
The hospital has established 5 clinical research bases for national traditional Chinese medicine academic schools, and introduced 5 Shenzhen "Medical and Health Three Projects" teams: the team of Tong Xiaolin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the team of Zhou Daihan, national master of traditional Chinese medicine, the team of Xu Nenggui, chief scientist of 973 Project, the team of Wang Zhihong, chief scientist of 973 Project, and the team of Dong Jingcheng, chief scientist of 973 Project.
