Shanghai Environmental Institute

Shanghai Environmental Sanitation Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Shanghai Environmental Institute), formerly known as Shanghai Environmental Sanitation Design and Research Institute, was established in 1983 through renaming and restructuring. It is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Environmental Group Co., Ltd., and is recognized as an innovative enterprise in Shanghai and a national high-tech enterprise.
Shanghai Environmental Institute has undertaken numerous key national research projects, including the National 863 Program, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Science and Technology Benefit Program, and the National Water Pollution Control Program. It has led the compilation of nearly a hundred national and industry standards. Its research achievements have received awards such as the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Ministry of Environmental Protection's Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education's Science and Technology Progress Award.
Shanghai Environmental Institute is one of the professional research and design institutions in China specializing in municipal sanitation engineering design and scientific research, with the largest scale, the most comprehensive professional setup, the broadest business scope, the largest market share, the highest technical level, and the strongest comprehensive competitiveness. Its business scope covers the entire solid waste sector, including domestic waste, kitchen waste, construction waste, sludge, industrial solid waste, hazardous waste and medical waste, feces, and sewage.
