China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group Co., Ltd. (CRS) was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is a large national comprehensive survey and design institution. In 2003, it was transferred from the Ministry of Railways to China Railway Construction Corporation. In 2007, along with the parent company's overall listing and restructuring, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, a Fortune Global 500 company. At present, it has more than 4,000 engineering and technical personnel, including 2 national survey and design masters, more than 2,600 senior and intermediate professional and technical personnel, and more than 700 various registered practicing engineers. CRS is a national railway investment consulting and evaluation unit, and its comprehensive strength ranks among the top 100 national survey and design institutions. It has been recognized as a high-tech enterprise by Hubei Province and approved by the state to establish a postdoctoral workstation. It has successively won the "National May 1st Labor Award", "Advanced Collective of Central Enterprises", and the title of "Top Ten Independent Innovation Enterprises" in the national survey and design industry on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. CRS possesses the first batch of national comprehensive engineering design Class A qualifications, and has more than 20 Class A and specialized qualifications in surveying and mapping, environmental impact assessment, water resources demonstration, water and soil conservation design, engineering consulting, engineering supervision, and engineering cost. It has presided over the compilation of dozens of national and industry norms and standards. Since its establishment, it has established design brands marked by road network planning, railway hubs, high-standard railways, complex mountainous railways, railway station buildings, underwater tunnels, light rail, subway, bridges, soft foundation treatment, and environmental assessment. It holds a national Grade A design credit certificate and, approved by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, has the right to conduct foreign operations. It has established a management system in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001 environmental, and GB/T28001, and has passed audit certification. CRS has always been the main force in China's railway survey and design. Over the past half century, it has completed survey and design tasks for 58,000 kilometers of railways and more than 20 large railway hubs, accounting for 30% of the national railway construction survey and design tasks since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In recent years, in the large-scale, high-standard railway construction, CRS has seized the technical high ground and successively designed and built more than 10 high-standard railways, including Hefei-Nanjing, Hefei-Wuhan, Southeast Coastal Railway, Wuhan-Guangzhou, Zhengzhou-Xi'an, Shanghai-Nanjing, Nanchang-Jiujiang, Shanghai-Hangzhou, Guangzhou-Zhuhai, Beijing-Shanghai, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong, accounting for two-thirds of the newly built high-speed rail mileage put into operation nationwide. In the national railway "four vertical and four horizontal" 13,000-kilometer skeleton network, the high-speed railway mileage surveyed, designed, or consulted by CRS reaches 7,780 kilometers, accounting for 60%. Over the years, adhering to the policy of "based on railway, facing society; based on domestic, facing the world", CRS has continuously expanded new production and operation fields, and has expanded from single railway survey and design to many fields such as highways, subways, light rail, underwater tunnels, municipal engineering, high-rise buildings, airports, ports, general engineering contracting, and engineering supervision. Since its establishment, it has won more than 400 national and provincial/ministerial awards for scientific and technological progress, excellent engineering survey and design, excellent software, and excellent standard design. Among them, the new technology for the construction of the Dayaoshan long railway tunnel won the Special Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. The Xuzhou Hub expansion project marshalling station and related works, the overall design of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen quasi-high-speed design, and computer-aided route selection design won the highest national excellent design award - the National Excellent Design Gold Medal. More than 140 design projects have been selected into the China Enterprise New Records, and it currently holds 80 valid patents.
