南京优然牧业有限责任公司是伊利集团上市公司，2011年投资1.5亿元兴建，其建设面积约34000平方米，2012年2月12日从澳洲引进荷斯坦纯种奶牛2500头。到2012年底将开始泌乳。投产后年均营业收入将实现5362.69万元，年均总成本4594.11万元，年均利润总额768.58万元，投资利润率7.80%，投资回收期（含建设期）6.95年，每年可为公司提供13725吨优质原料奶，可减缓我公司高端产品对优质原料奶的需求，同时可起到良好的示范和带动作用，促进先进奶牛饲养技术在当地的推广和应用。
该项目奶牛全部引进进口荷斯坦奶牛，每头牛年产鲜奶8.5吨，奶牛饲养原料以优质苜蓿及青贮玉米为主，采用全混日粮TMR机械饲喂、机械化集中挤奶、粪污无公害处理、全自动信息化管理，牧场所产优质原料奶预计13725吨可供我公司生产高端奶，保证华东地区奶源的安全及供应，且每年销售收入为5472万元，税后可实现利润1026.11万元。
目前该项目已经带动地方150户以上农户致富。直接带动周边农民就业300余人，间接带动就业人数800余人。
