Chongqing Biowei Baitai Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Biowei Baitai) is a novel R&D and production enterprise focusing on recombinant protein vaccines and recombinant protein drugs. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Biowei Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Headquartered in Building 12, No. 908 Ziping Road, Shanghai Pudong International Medical Park, Shanghai Biowei Biotechnology has a 3,000-square-meter independent R&D center compliant with national GMP standards. Its main R&D equipment and instruments are from well-known foreign companies, and it conducts new drug R&D, pilot-scale testing, preclinical and clinical research. Biowei Baitai has selected a site in Chongqing Maliu Yanjiang Development Zone to invest in the construction of a biopharmaceutical industrial park for the industrialization of recombinant protein vaccine projects.
Biowei Baitai masters the internationally leading genetically engineered recombinant particulate protein technology (i.e., VLP technology), has innovatively developed a novel yeast expression system, and established a eukaryotic cell VLP technology platform. The company has more than ten projects under research, all progressing smoothly. *** projects are preventive vaccines against tumors. Preclinical trials were completed in 2014 and an application was submitted to CFDA. In September 2018, it entered clinical trials. Within the next 2 to 3 years, it can complete the early incubation of multiple recombinant protein vaccine and drug projects, apply to the China Food and Drug Administration for clinical trials of multiple projects, and launch industrialization.
