厦门中平公路勘察设计院有限公司成立于2002年2月，是根据国家勘察设计单位“事转企”精神，由事业单位改企组建的股份制有限公司。是从事工程勘察、设计、咨询、监理、试验检测等业务的民营企业。拥有国家工程咨询甲级，工程设计（公路、市政道路、桥梁、隧道）专业甲级，工程勘察（岩土、测量）专业甲级、市政工程监理甲级、公路工程，试验检测综合乙级、工程招标代理暂定级等一批重要资质。公司成立12年来，先后完成了近300项公路工程、市政工程的咨询、勘察、设计项目。2003年至今连续获厦门市政府“守合同重信用企业”称号，2011年至今获福建省政府“守合同重信用企业”称号，2010年荣获全国勘察设计行业优秀民营设计企业奖，2013年、2015年获福建省优秀工程勘察设计二等奖，2014年获福建省“龙头企业”称号。
