China Economic Information Service

China Economic Information Service is a directly affiliated enterprise of Xinhua News Agency. As the market entity of Xinhua's economic information business, it is responsible for the collection, product production, marketing, and user services of Xinhua's economic information. It has established 30 branches domestically and manages key subsidiaries such as Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange, Xinhua (Qingdao) International Marine Information Center, and Beijing Xinhua Multimedia Data Co., Ltd.
In September 1984, Comrade Deng Xiaoping wrote an inscription for Xinhua News Agency: "Develop information resources, serve the four modernizations." In January 1985, Xinhua launched a dedicated economic information service line. In 1989, Xinhua registered and established China Economic Information Service, making it the pioneer of economic information services in China.
After more than 30 years of development, China Economic Information Service has built an economic information product system covering multiple economic fields, with over 20,000 users at home and abroad, becoming one of the largest domestic economic information service institutions with the widest service scope and the most complete product categories.
In 2015, Xinhua News Agency made plans for the development of its economic information business, positioning it as a strategic focus for the entire agency's development. It deepened reforms, integrated resources, and consolidated departments and enterprises involved in economic information business, including the former Economic Information Editorial Department, Zhongjingshe Holding Co., Ltd., and China Financial Information Center, to expand and strengthen the economic information business, better serve the central task of economic construction and national development strategies.
The newly restructured China Economic Information Service was officially listed on April 26, 2016, marking an important milestone in the development of Xinhua's economic information business and indicating the basic completion of business integration, beginning the path of integrated operations.
China Economic Information Service is user-centric and service-oriented, creating a new economic information ecosystem and launching a new product cluster and service platform, mainly including Xinhua Finance, Xinhua Silk Road, government affairs information, industry information, public opinion monitoring, strategic consulting, economic think tanks, Xinhua Index, and Xinhua Credit.
China Economic Information Service adheres to the direction of internationalization, marketization, and specialization. It will fully leverage Xinhua's network and resource advantages as a national news agency and world news agency, relying on Xinhua's 239 branches at home and abroad, more than 5,000 editorial and reporting staff, and nearly 1,000 professional personnel from China Economic Information Service, to set up dedicated information collection institutions in key world regions, economic centers, and financial centers, and establish a comprehensive global economic information collection and processing system.
China Economic Information Service will strive to become an information service institution that matches China's economic status and has significant international influence, leading the development of China's economic information industry and becoming an internationally authoritative hub for economic information.
