天津市教育考试研究所是天津市社科联直属的从事教育考试理论和应用研究的社会组织。以教育考试服务、教育测评、教学评估及数据分析、教育咨询与培训、教育信息化开发、国内外学术交流活动以及合作办学等为主要业务。研究所有较强的教育技术研发实力，其科研基地分布在天津、北京、成都和海口等地。与国内多个地区的教育管理及科研机构、出版社及北京师范大学、天津外国语大学等数十所国内知名大学以及新加坡、澳大利亚等国家的高校和教育机构建立有合作关系。基于研究所多年来为教育考试做出的突出贡献，2017年被评为全国社科联创建新型智库先进社会组织。
