Skyworth was founded in 1988, headquartered in Shenzhen High-tech Industrial Park, known as the innovative "Silicon Valley", with more than 40,000 employees. Skyworth is a large high-tech group company mainly engaged in the research, development and manufacturing of consumer electronics, smart TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, display devices, digital set-top boxes, security monitors, network communications, semiconductors, 3C digital products, LED lighting and other products, while extending to smart TV platform content operation and user value.
In 2000, Skyworth was listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HK00751). In September 2014, Skyworth Digital, an industrial company under the group, was officially listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZ000810). In 2016, the brand value of Skyworth reached 83.232 billion yuan, ranking 13th among Chinese electronic enterprises and first in the TV industry; ranking 17th among China's electronic information top 100, and listed on "China's Top 500 Enterprises" and "Top 100 Hong Kong Listed Companies". By early 2017, Skyworth ranked among the world's top five TV brands. Skyworth's digital set-top box market share has been firmly ranked first in China for many consecutive years, with overall sales ranking third globally.
