中广有线是由广电总局广播影视信息网络中心于1998年4月成立。按照广电总局和中央电视台的要求，在近十年的时间里，中广有线通过“资产入股—吸收合并”的方式，先后完成对温州、绍兴、绍兴县、舟山、芜湖、南通、徐州、启东、蚌埠、扬州、马鞍山、上虞、枣庄、滕州、绥化、海伦、绥棱、承德等市（县）的有线网络资产重组。公司目前拥有18家分、子公司，至2016年底，公司注册资本金从8000万元增加到156058万元，实现总资产54亿元，经营收入18.7亿元，直接管理有线电视用户超过410万户。形成了跨地区整合、跨地区经营的良好运营模式。
