株洲市妇幼保健院创建于1953年，地处建设南路218号，现已发展成为一所集医疗、保健、科研、教学及计划生育技术指导为一体的二级甲等专科医院，2007年7月升格为正处级单位。医院共有在职职工546人，中高级专业技术人员145人，设有临床、保健、医技及职能科室27个，开设妇科、产科、儿科、小儿外科、乳腺外科病房及儿童保健和妇女保健相关项目。现开设病床260张，年门诊量25万余人次，年收治住院病人万余人次。医院拥有电视腹腔镜、宫腔镜、电子阴道镜、Leep刀、高频呼吸机，CR、BBT、四维彩色B超、胎儿监护仪、全自动化学发光仪、全自动生化分析仪、微量元素测定仪等先进仪器和设备，技术力量雄厚，医疗技术水平在本地区处于领先地位。
