School Introduction

Chongqing Wuyi Senior Technical School (Chongqing Wuyi Technician College) was founded in 1955 and is affiliated with the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. In 2009, it was approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government to establish a technician college. It is a full-time public national key technical school and national key secondary vocational school that integrates academic education, vocational training, high-skilled talent cultivation, skill appraisal, and competition base construction.
The school adheres to the educational policy of "rigorous scholarship, integrity in education, virtue and skill enhancement, and pioneering innovation," inherits and promotes the craftsman spirit and Huang Yanpei's vocational education thought, takes "unity and truth-seeking, innovation in education" as its motto, "truth-seeking and pragmatic, harmonious innovation" as its school spirit, "dedication and excellence, virtue and artistry" as its teaching style, and "diligent learning and inquisitive, unity of knowledge and action" as its learning style. It actively explores the development approach of "high-end leadership, connotative development, and school-enterprise cooperation," deepens industry-education integration, focuses on connotation, promotes characteristics, creates brands, and comprehensively improves the school's educational level and comprehensive strength. After years of development, the school has become one of the first batch of national secondary vocational education reform and development demonstration schools, one of the first batch of *** high-skilled talent training bases, one of the first batch of national vocational training institutes (pilot) construction units, and the Chinese team training base for hairdressing, automobile technology, and plumbing and heating projects of the World Skills Competition. The school has been approved as the Chinese team training base for automobile technology and hairdressing projects of the World Skills Competition for four consecutive sessions (42nd, 43rd, 44th, and 45th), and has been approved as the Chinese team training base for plumbing and heating projects for two consecutive sessions (44th and 45th). The trained base contestants have won 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 excellence awards at the World Skills Competition, making important contributions to China's breakthrough of zero gold medals in the World Skills Competition.
The school has two campuses in Yuzhong and Banan, covering an area of 738 mu, with a total construction area of more than 250,000 square meters and fixed assets of 140 million yuan (excluding land). It currently offers four teaching departments: Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Modern Management. It offers 28 majors including New Energy Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, Industrial Robots, Hairdressing and Image Design, and Nursing (Elderly Care). Among them, there are 13 senior technician majors, 4 preparatory technician majors, 2 "five-year system" higher vocational majors, and 1 "3+4" secondary-undergraduate segmented training major, covering major industries such as processing and manufacturing, transportation, electrical information, finance and trade, and civil engineering and water conservancy. It has 4 national demonstration construction majors, 6 Chongqing technical college excellent majors, and 2 Chongqing secondary vocational school key (characteristic) majors. The school insists on both academic education and vocational training. It currently has more than 7,500 students, with senior technicians and above accounting for 70%. The average annual social vocational training reaches 18,000 people. The high-skilled talent training work has been widely recognized by society. It has successively won many *** and provincial-level honorary titles such as the first batch of *** high-skilled talent training demonstration bases, the first batch of national demonstration vocational skill appraisal institutes, national advanced vocational education units, and the National Skill Talent Cultivation Outstanding Contribution Award.
The school currently has more than 340 faculty members. Among full-time teachers, "integrated" teachers account for 78.1%. It has 3 experts enjoying the State Council Special Government Allowance, 5 national technical experts, 1 National Skill Talent Cultivation Outstanding Contribution Award winner, 1 national model teacher, 9 Chinese coaches for the World Skills Competition, 6 Chongqing May 1st Labor Medal winners, 1 Top Ten Bayu Craftsman, and 1 Chongqing Post Learning Lei Feng Model. The school actively carries out school-enterprise cooperation and promotes industry-education integration. It has been approved as one of the first batch of new apprenticeship pilot institutions in Chongqing, signed long-term cooperation agreements with more than 60 enterprises, established an industry-enterprise-school cooperation mechanism, and formed a school-enterprise community of interests. Each professional department has basically formed a cooperation trend of school-enterprise joint enrollment and recruitment, joint discussion of professional planning, joint discussion of curriculum development, joint formation of faculty teams, joint creation of training models, joint construction of internship bases, joint establishment of management platforms, and joint evaluation of training quality. The Building Equipment Installation (Radiant Heating and Cooling) major was selected as a typical case of school-enterprise cooperation by the Ministry of Education. The school attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation and actively integrates into the "Belt and Road" national strategy. It carries out the "Outstanding Student Government-Sponsored Study Abroad Program" with Federation University Australia. At present, a total of 18 outstanding students have been selected to study in Australia, creating a breakthrough for government-sponsored overseas study for secondary vocational students in our city. The first batch of 8 students returned after completing their studies; 7 were hired by Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. to participate in work related to skill master studios, and 1 signed a study and teaching agreement with the school. Seven students from the school's "Wuyi Jieqi" Craftsman Class were selected to study at Taiwan Qifa Group, and cooperative relations have been established with 5 countries and regions including Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Germany.
As the school's educational achievements continue to improve, its social reputation has gradually increased. The school has made more than 22 exchange speeches at national and Chongqing vocational education conferences, hosted 14 various vocational education conferences at national and Chongqing levels, received 10 foreign exchange delegations from Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, etc., and received more than 80 visits and inspections from secondary and higher vocational colleges inside and outside the city.
