Legend Holdings Ltd. ("Legend Holdings") was founded in 1984 by 11 researchers with an investment of RMB 200,000 from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2008, the company's consolidated revenue was RMB 115.2 billion, total assets were RMB 64.4 billion, accumulated taxes paid to the state over the years amounted to RMB 12.6 billion, and the total number of employees was nearly 30,000.
Legend Holdings adopts a parent-subsidiary structure and currently operates in three major industries: IT, investment, and real estate. It has five subsidiaries: Lenovo Group, Digital China, Legend Capital, Raycom Real Estate, and Hony Capital.
