Zhuqiao Experimental Primary School

Zhuqiao Primary School is located in Zhangjiang, Pudong, and is entrusted to management by Shanghai Minban Pinghe Bilingual School. At Zhuqiao, we hope to build on the 20-year legacy of Pinghe and explore a path of education oriented towards the future. Through more personalized education, we aim to provide children and parents with a new choice.

Zhuqiao Primary School believes that a child's core competencies may boil down to three things: intrinsic motivation, a sense of purpose, and the ability to take action. What we aim to cultivate are lifelong learners possessing these three abilities. To achieve this educational goal, we have proposed a concept of "broad curriculum," which means that all experiences a child has during the school day—what they see, hear, smell, touch, etc.—are part of the curriculum. This broad curriculum encompasses four aspects: first, the campus environment; second, the language system; third, the specific learning processes that take place in the classroom; and fourth, the research, development, and iteration of the curriculum itself.

We hope that Zhuqiao connects reality and dreams, school and society, children and adults, and the present and the future. This will be an exploration filled with passion, fun, uncertainty, and challenges. In dreams begin responsibilities. This is not an easy path. We sincerely invite educators who share our educational goals and who wish to create for children an education that faces the future and belongs to the future, to join us in building this bridge of education leading to the future.
