Huayu Magna is committed to the research, development, and manufacturing of electric drive systems for new energy vehicles. Its shareholders are Huayu Automotive (under SAIC) and Magna International, with Huayu Automotive holding 50.1% and Magna holding 49.9%.

The company's business scope includes the design, development, manufacturing, assembly, and sales of integrated electric drive system assembly products for new energy vehicles. By integrating drive motors, transmissions, and controllers into a single unit, it replaces traditional internal combustion engines and gearboxes of conventional vehicles.
