吉林省建筑科学研究设计院创建于1958年 6月，是吉林省建设行业从事科研、工程勘察设计、监理、建筑工程质量检测、室内环境质量检测、建筑材料试化验和技术咨询、服务等综合性科技型企业。现具有工程设计甲级资质，工程咨询乙级资质，工程监理甲级资质、工程勘察乙级资质、建设工程质量检测机构综合检测资质和建筑装饰装潢、防腐保温、特种专业工程、岩土工程专项施工等专项施工资质。吉林省建筑工程质量检测中心、吉林省建筑起重机械检测中心、吉林省建筑节能评价中心设在本院。本院还被批准为吉林省建筑能效测评机构及司法鉴定机构。本院的工程勘察和工程设计质量保证体系于2001年6月通过ISO9001国际质量体系标准认证。2010年，我检测中心通过了中国合格评定国家认可委员会（China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment，CNAS)实验室认可。
