Guangxi Communications Design Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Transportation Planning Survey and Design Institute) was established in 1960, owning an independent office building of 40,000 square meters and a new R&D base covering 70 mu (approximately 46,667 square meters) with a construction area of about 120,000 square meters, located in the core area of Nanning, the capital of Guangxi. Known as one of the strongest enterprises in comprehensive strength for transportation survey and design in western China and the "pioneer" of transportation construction in Guangxi, Guangxi Communications Design Group Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in consultation, survey and design, testing, and scientific research for highways of various grades, water transport, municipal engineering, and industrial and civil buildings. The group currently holds national Class A qualifications in highway industry, water transport industry, municipal industry (drainage, roads, bridges), engineering survey, and surveying and mapping, as well as full-series qualifications for highway engineering construction, port and waterway engineering construction, municipal public engineering construction, general contracting of building engineering, professional contracting for foundation and groundwork engineering, highway traffic engineering, highway maintenance engineering, and the right to operate foreign contracted projects. As of the end of December 2021, the company has 1,176 employees (including subsidiaries), among whom 1 is a "Top 100 Outstanding Engineer" of the China Highway and Transportation Society, 2 are Guangxi Engineering Survey and Design Masters, 35 are professor-level senior engineers, 369 hold senior or above professional technical qualifications, 550 hold doctoral or master's degrees, 356 are various registered personnel, and over 853 are professional and technical personnel. In recent years, leveraging its strong capabilities, the company has expanded into markets in Laos and other provinces such as Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Guizhou, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Anhui, and Xinjiang. It has completed over 3,700 km of expressways and more than 200 extra-large and large highway and municipal bridges. It has also completed more than 20 coastal berths ranging from 10,000 to 200,000 tons in Guangxi, over 30 inland river port terminals, and design work for 10 large inland navigation and hydropower junction ship locks including national key water transport projects such as Guiping, Guigang, Naji, Yuliang Laokou, and Changzhou (the largest navigable class scale in the world), as well as numerous junction ship locks on the "one trunk and seven branches" waterway system. It has won over 200 national, ministerial (provincial) scientific and technological achievement awards, outstanding surveys, and designs.
