根据昆山城市总体规划，按照《昆山市城市燃气规划》、《昆山市北部区燃气规划》、《昆山市西部生态生活区燃气管网规划》等专业规划，在老城区、开发区、北部区及西部生态生活区实施燃气管网工程。目前供气范围东至顺帆路，西至古城路、湖滨路，北至339省道，南至铁路（老城区），基本覆盖了整个市区，并不断向周边地区延伸。

目前中低压管网在供气范围内已形成网络，输气管道主要采用PE管，并有部分螺旋钢管，适合天然气输送。

目前所供燃气为天然气。
