Shenzhen Longhua District Maternal and Child Health Hospital

Shenzhen Longhua District Maternal and Child Health Hospital was established in January 2013, and additionally bears the plaques of the District Infant and Toddler Care Service Guidance Center and the Longhua District Health Education Institute. It is a Grade III public maternal and child health hospital, a Shenzhen Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, and a teaching hospital for universities such as the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. In the 2023 Guangdong Province Grade III Maternal and Child Health Institution Performance Assessment rankings, Longhua District Maternal and Child Health Hospital ranked 17th among 33 Grade III maternal and child health hospitals in the province. Patient satisfaction has consistently ranked * among maternal and child hospitals citywide, and in the * quarter of 2024 it ranked third among public hospitals citywide; the hospital's delivery volume and pediatric inpatient volume ranked fourth among hospitals citywide.
The current site covers an area of 33,000 square meters, with a building area of 42,000 square meters, 516 open beds, 21,000 inpatients in 2023, over 890,000 outpatient visits, and total revenue of 730 million yuan. It is equipped with advanced equipment such as 3.0T MRI and 256-slice CT, valued at approximately 400 million yuan. The new campus of Shenzhen Longhua District Maternal and Child Health Hospital is one of Shenzhen's major health projects under the "Seven New Construction and Three Expansion" initiative, located in Huangmapu Community, Dalang Street, Longhua District, Shenzhen. The new campus construction budget is approximately 3 billion yuan, with an area of 260,000 square meters and a planned 800 beds; the site is currently at the foundation and substructure stage.
The hospital is advancing the construction of a clinical teaching hospital with "strong specialties and strong comprehensive capabilities" and a research-oriented high-level maternal and child health hospital, and is promoting the development of disciplines including the Shenzhen central-axis regional critical maternal rescue center, critical child and neonatal rescue center, maternal-fetal medicine center, prenatal diagnosis center, reproductive medicine center, and pediatric brain science medical center. It has passed the on-site review for the Guangdong Province prenatal diagnosis practice license. In 2024, the obstetrics and neonatology departments were rated by the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission as Shenzhen Maternal Health Specialty Construction Units and Shenzhen Neonatal Health Specialty Construction Units.
The hospital has established mechanisms for cooperation and coordinated development with domestic medical colleges and universities, set up research funds, and built a medical experiment center. The hospital currently has 2 academic positions in * medical associations, 3 association standing committee members, 5 provincial-level vice chairpersons, 8 standing committee members, and 5 municipal-level vice chairpersons. In recent years, it has obtained 2 National Youth Natural Science Foundation projects and 1 postdoctoral fund project. On May 5, 2022, a chromosomal karyotype discovered by the prenatal diagnosis center was the first reported in China, an important contribution by our hospital to the "Chinese Human Chromosome Abnormality Karyotype Database."
In February 2023, it was approved as a Shenzhen Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base and recruited 1 postdoctoral fellow. In the past 3 years, it has obtained 2 provincial Natural Science Foundation projects and 3 Guangdong Province Medical Research Fund projects. It has undertaken sub-topics of the 14th Five-Year National Key R&D Program "Reproductive Health and Women's and Children's Health Security" and the "National Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Disease Prevention and Treatment System Construction Based on Pelvic Floor Electrophysiological Technology" key special project. It passed the national health promotion district review with the * ranking in the province.
