Shenzhen Pingshan District Maternal and Child Health Hospital

Shenzhen Pingshan District Maternal and Child Health Hospital is a non-profit secondary hospital integrating medical treatment, prevention, healthcare, and rehabilitation, and serves as a practicum site for the School of Public Health of Wuhan University. While undertaking maternal and child health services in Pingshan District, it also undertakes the functions of general medical care in the surrounding area, positioned in a "large specialty, small general" model, with 6 community health centers under its jurisdiction.
The hospital currently covers an area of 11,100 square meters with a building area of 10,800 square meters. To alleviate the shortage of hospital operational space, Pingshan District has decided to build a new 32,000-square-meter comprehensive building on the current hospital site. Construction has already begun and it is expected to be put into use by the end of 2017, at which time the number of beds will increase to 300. In addition, a modern and international new hospital campus designed according to the standards of a tertiary Grade A hospital and featuring women's and children's medical and healthcare is also being actively promoted. The new campus covers an area of 35,000 square meters with a building area of approximately 175,000 square meters, designed with 800 beds, and is planned to be put into use by the end of 2020.
The hospital currently has departments including the Emergency Department, Preventive Healthcare Department, Women's Health Department, Child Health Department, Internal Medicine Department, Surgery Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Pediatrics Department (Neonatology Department), Ophthalmology Department, Otorhinolaryngology Department, Stomatology Department, Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, General Practice Department, Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Department, Anesthesiology Department, Rehabilitation Medicine Department, Dermatology Department, Medical Imaging Department, and Medical Laboratory Department. Among them, the Pediatrics Department (Neonatology Department) is a district-level key discipline, and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Pediatrics Department, Pediatric Surgery Department, and Laboratory Department are key development disciplines of the hospital.
The hospital currently has 402 employees, including 15 with senior professional titles, 57 with associate senior professional titles, 112 with intermediate professional titles, and 173 with junior professional titles. There are 6 doctoral degree holders, 14 master's degree holders, and 6 graduate student supervisors. It undertakes more than ten national, Shenzhen municipal, and district-level research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. It has published more than one hundred related academic papers, including papers indexed by SCI. The hospital has long accepted interns in clinical medicine, preventive medicine, and nursing from multiple universities, colleges, and secondary schools, as well as residents receiving standardized training.
It has more than 300 pieces of equipment worth over 10,000 yuan each, and nearly 30 pieces of equipment worth over 500,000 yuan each. The main equipment includes American GE 16-slice spiral CT, Siemens medical X-ray radiography system (DR) and Philips digital flat-panel X-ray radiography system, Hitachi 800mA X-ray machine, imported four-dimensional color ultrasound, endoscopes, Leep knife, colposcope, visual abortion machine, pediatric ventilator, CPAP ventilator, central ECG monitor, central fetal heart monitor, pacemaker defibrillator, fully automated biochemical analyzer, multifunctional anesthesia ventilator, electronic gastroscope, surgical microscope, dental comprehensive treatment chair, sinus endoscope system, etc.
