Chongqing Rongchang District People's Hospital, founded in 1941, is a national "Grade II Class A" comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and healthcare. It is a "Baby-Friendly Hospital" named by the Ministry of Health; it is a member of the Medical Group of the Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University and a medical technology cooperation hospital of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University; it is a teaching and internship hospital for Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing Medical and Pharmaceutical College, Neijiang Medical College, and other institutions, as well as a general practice training base for standardized residency training in Chongqing.
The hospital consists of the main campus and the South New District. It currently occupies 36.11 mu of land, and is accelerating the overall relocation project covering 162 mu, located in the former cement plant area of Hongqiao Community. It currently has 800 authorized beds and 1,028 actually open beds. The annual outpatient and emergency visits are 742,000, discharges are 44,000, and surgical operations are 20,500.
