学校位于邵阳县塘渡口镇河西街万宝路，是经邵阳市教育局审批，湖南省教育厅备案的一所民办普通高中学校。学校原由邵阳县县委党校和县一中联合创办，原名一中分校，之后更名为邵阳县德望中学。根据所处的地理位置和邵阳县教育布局，立足邵阳县区域经济，符合邵阳县经济发展的需要。经过多年的打拼，我校正在向制度化，科学化，管理规模上快速发展，为第下一个五年计划的实现奠定良好基础。
