中国建筑材料工业地质勘查中心宁夏总队始建于1977年，隶属中国建材集团有限公司，是一支以固体矿产勘查；勘查工程施工（钻探）；地质测绘；地质勘探工程；岩石、矿物、土壤及水质分析、化验、鉴定与测试；水文地质；工程测量；地质勘察（岩土工程勘察、地基与基础工程施工）；非煤矿山安全评价，小型矿山开采设计；职业卫生健康评价等业务为主的中央驻宁单位。
宁夏总队基地位于银川市西夏区怀远西路644号，占地面积为3万平方米，毗邻银川市大学园区，地理位置优越，交通便利。
