怀化鹤城安康精神病医院是一家主要收治精神疾病的专科医院，占地面积12亩，建筑面积达1.6万平方米。医院开设一个综合门诊，开放病床3--张，三个临床科室（二个男病区、一个女病区），拥有员工100余人，其中高、中、初级专业技术人员40余人，配备有全自动生化分析仪、彩色颈颅多普勒、脑电图机、自动心电图机、彩色B超、血细胞分析仪、尿液分析仪、心电监护仪等医疗设备。病人住院为全封闭管理，病区内设有蓝球声、乒乓球室、电视娱乐房等。
