Chongqing International Trade Group Co., Ltd. was established in July 1983 with the approval of the State Council. It was restructured from the former China Chongqing International Economic and Technical Cooperation Company. It is a major state-owned international trade platform enterprise in Chongqing and a key subsidiary of Chongqing Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Group) Co., Ltd. The company has 12 domestic and overseas subsidiaries and 410 employees. The company focuses on bulk commodity import and export trade and industrial supply chain services, and has developed independent competitiveness and unique advantages in the import and export trade of bulk commodities such as energy and chemicals, mineral resources, and non-ferrous metals. In 2017, the company achieved operating revenue of 11.3 billion yuan, total profits and taxes of 1 billion yuan, and import and export volume of 2 billion US dollars. Its imports of electrolytic copper and iron ore ranked among the top in the country. As an export-oriented enterprise that was among the earliest in Chongqing to go abroad and has operated overseas for the longest time, it is based in Chongqing and reaches globally.
