开远电厂位于云南省红河州开远市约3km的下浑水塘，是滇南地区大型坑口电厂，“云电外送”的主力电厂之一。开远电厂建设规划规模4×300MW，一期建设2×300MW国产化大容量循环流化床锅炉发电机组，分别于2006年6月3日和2006年8月28日投入生产。目前,二期筹建处已正式成立,前期工作全面展开。
