Central South Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. (Chinese abbreviation: CSSDI Group; English abbreviation: CSSDI) was established on May 9, 1955, formerly the Central South Branch of the Survey Company of the National Ministry of Construction Engineering, and was one of the earliest comprehensive survey and design institutes directly under the Ministry. It is now a holding subsidiary of Hubei Provincial Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of RMB 250.49 million and 9 wholly-owned subsidiaries and branches.

After more than 60 years of arduous entrepreneurship and innovative development by several generations of CSSDI people, the enterprise has achieved a transition from a single survey industry to a full industrial chain (strategic research, planning and consultancy, feasibility studies, investment and financing, comprehensive survey, engineering design, engineering construction, operation and maintenance, asset management), and from the construction industry to a full-lifecycle, full-process consulting service provider across multiple industries including transportation infrastructure, municipal engineering, and construction engineering.

CSSDI Group (including its subsidiaries) holds Class A qualifications for comprehensive engineering survey (including engineering measurement), Class A qualification for engineering surveying and mapping; Class A qualifications for highway industry (highway) engineering design and highway industry (traffic engineering) design; Class A qualifications for municipal industry (road) and municipal industry (bridge) engineering design; Class A qualification for construction industry (construction engineering) design; Class A credit for engineering consulting, as well as various Class A survey, design, and consulting qualifications and credits, in addition to qualifications for urban and rural planning, geological hazard survey, design, construction, and risk assessment. It holds Class A qualifications for construction engineering supervision, as well as professional qualifications for municipal public engineering supervision, highway engineering supervision, and civil air defense engineering construction supervision; Class A qualification for foundation inspection; and also holds Level I professional contracting qualifications for foundation construction, special engineering professional contracting qualifications, and general construction contracting qualifications.

CSSDI Group's business covers survey and design for transportation infrastructure, municipal engineering, and construction engineering (including survey and design of highways and various levels of roads, municipal roads and bridges, construction engineering design, geotechnical engineering design, etc.), engineering consulting (strategic research, planning and consultancy, engineering consulting, engineering management), survey and geotechnical engineering (engineering survey, foundation, inspection and monitoring, engineering measurement), engineering supervision, engineering testing, full-process engineering consulting services for construction projects, general contracting of engineering, general construction contracting, and various professional construction contracting services.

CSSDI Group currently employs over 500 people.
