茂名市第三人民医院（茂名市精神卫生中心）、（原高州秋林医院）创建于1958年，是茂名地区*一间集精神疾病预防、治疗、康复、科研、教学及法医精神病司法鉴定、精神残疾评定为一体的三级精神心理专科医院，也是粤西地区*一间三级精神病专科医院，是定点收治“三无”流浪精神病人及强制医疗精神病病人、自愿戒毒治疗定点单位，承担茂名地区严重精神障碍管理治疗工作、社会心理服务体系建设、精神疾病诊疗质量控制的职能。我院精神科被评为省级临床重点专科，中医神志病科被评为省级“十四五”中医药临床重点专科。
