Guangzhou Tonghe Hospital

Guangzhou Tonghe Hospital is a large general hospital constructed according to the national Grade II Class A standards. It is a designated medical insurance institution in Guangzhou and a member of the 120 emergency rescue system of Zengcheng District. The hospital is located in Xintang Town, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. It obtained its practice registration permit on December 3, 2019, and officially opened to patients on December 19 of the same year. In the initial phase, 400 beds are available for clinical use. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, our hospital was designated as the designated hospital for treating COVID-19 patients in Zengcheng District on January 30. Later, to implement the national "four concentration" policy, it was converted into a centralized medical observation site (hospital) for close contacts in Zengcheng District.
I. Management Team:
The hospital was planned and established under the guidance of Professor Liang Dong, former dean of the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University and master's supervisor. Dr. Zhang Qidong, former deputy dean of Gaozhou People's Hospital and a master's degree holder, serves as the dean. A group of senior medical professionals from national Grade III Class A hospitals, including Chief Physician Zhang Jiemin (postdoctoral fellow in medicine) and Chief Physician Bai Mingdong (medical doctor), form the medical and teaching team. The hospital operates under a management model similar to large teaching hospitals. Additionally, four hospital-level teaching and research offices have been established for internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics, along with hospital-level brain science research institute and surgical research institute.
II. Technical Team:
The hospital currently has nearly 300 staff members, with 80% being health professionals; 31 personnel hold titles of associate chief physician or above, including 11 chief physicians and 20 associate chief physicians; 20 personnel hold master's or doctoral degrees; all discipline leaders are from Grade III general hospitals.

Clinical disciplines include the following clinical departments: Internal Medicine I (neurology, gastroenterology), Internal Medicine II (cardiovascular medicine, respiratory medicine, endocrinology, rheumatology and immunology, nephrology), Surgery I (orthopedics, neurosurgery, microsurgery), Surgery II (general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, urology, pediatric surgery), obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ENT and ophthalmology (ophthalmology, otolaryngology, stomatology), integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, comprehensive department (traditional Chinese medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine), physical examination, anesthesiology, outpatient and emergency, and critical care medicine, totaling 21 clinical departments. Auxiliary medical technology departments: medical imaging, ultrasound imaging, neuroelectrophysiology, endoscopy, laboratory and blood transfusion, pathology, and preventive health care, totaling 8 auxiliary departments. Functional management departments include administration, medical affairs, nursing, pharmacy, medical equipment, finance, logistics, procurement and material management, and computer center, totaling nine major departments.

The hospital possesses over 400 sets of equipment each valued above 10,000 yuan. Major large-scale medical equipment includes: original imported Philips 1.5T superconducting silent MRI, GE 64-slice 128-row spiral CT (USA), Philips 1250mA DSA (digital subtraction angiography), Shimadzu dynamic digital X-ray machine (DR) from Japan, GE double-plate DR (USA), Philips Q7C cardiac ultrasound, GE S10 four-dimensional ultrasound, dynamic and flat-panel multi-lead ECG diagnostic instruments, EEG recorder, brain electrical activity mapping (BEAM), electromyography, nerve evoked potential instrument, transcranial Doppler; Roche complete laboratory testing system (Sweden) and Leica pathology equipment (Germany); Johnson & Johnson ultrasonic scalpel, Leep knife, Olympus 4D high-definition laparoscope and hysteroscope, and a large number of imported medical and surgical equipment; five laminar flow operating rooms ranging from Class 100 to Class 10,000; Class 10,000 laminar flow delivery room and waiting room; and a digital hospital equipped with a hyper-converged data center using Sangfor and Huawei core equipment, mobile payment, and terminal informatization.
