1. Enterprise Nature
Mitsubishi Electric Shanghai Mechanical & Electrical Elevator Co., Ltd. (referred to as "MESE") was established in August 2002. It is a Sino-Japanese joint venture with Japanese majority ownership. The shareholders are Shanghai Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and Mitsubishi Electric Building Techno-Service Co., Ltd.

2. Development History and Future Prospects
The company's predecessor, "Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Engineering Technology Co., Ltd." (referred to as "SMET"), was established in 2002, primarily producing thin traction machines for the world's most advanced machine-room-less elevators. In June 2006, the company was renamed Mitsubishi Electric Shanghai Mechanical & Electrical Elevator Co., Ltd. (MESE), and its registered capital was increased from the initial 5 million US dollars to 53 million US dollars. The business expanded from traction machine production to complete elevator manufacturing. To provide era-leading products, we closely cooperate with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, a comprehensive electrical machinery manufacturer with various advanced technologies, engaging in the development, production, sales, installation, and maintenance of complete elevators. With the continuous development of the market economy, the elevator industry is a "sunrise" industry with long-term development prospects. To adapt to the rapid growth of the elevator industry, the company built a new factory in Xinzhuang Industrial Zone at the end of 2007, covering an area of approximately 180,000 square meters. In 2015, production and sales exceeded 9,500 units, and the plan is to produce over 20,000 high-end elevators annually by 2020.

3. Business Scope
Sales and manufacturing of elevators, building management systems, and their components; sales of products and components bearing the Mitsubishi trademark, including elevators, escalators, moving walks, and building management systems; provision of non-standard engineering design, installation, renovation, quality management, repair, and maintenance services for all the above equipment; and entrusted development related to application development and elemental technology development (including software development) for all the above equipment.

The company's expected operating revenue for fiscal year 2015 is 2.7 billion yuan. The current total number of directly employed staff is approximately 860.
