莆田中环水务有限公司成立于2014年，是【厦门嵩湖环保股份有限公司】全资子公司，于2015年建设仙游县第二污水处理厂。仙游县第二污水处理厂采用改良型Carrousel-2000氧化沟为主体的生活污水处理工艺，出水水质执行《城镇污水处理厂污染物排放标准》（GB18918-2002）一级B排放标准，于2016年7月建成并投入运营，主要处理榜头镇、盖尾镇及瑞峰工业园区的生活污水，尾水排入木兰溪。为确保仙游县第二污水处理厂尾水达标排放，减轻对木兰溪水质的不利影响，根上级要求，拟通过提标改造将尾水排放标准由一级B提升为一级A。并根据2018年6月4日市委书记及相关主要领导调研第二污水处理厂时的指示精神，结合厂区前河滩地建设配套功能湿地公园。
