Shanghai Jiao Tong University Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., located on the beautiful campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is one of the university's outstanding science and technology enterprises. Established in 1985, it currently holds national comprehensive Class A design qualification for construction, Class A qualification for urban-rural planning, Class B qualification for landscape architecture design, and Class B qualification for cultural relic protection engineering survey and design. In 2003, it passed the GB/T19001-2000-ISO-9001:2000 quality management system certification. SJTUDRI, leveraging the humanities, science, and technology background of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and relying on the "industry-academia-research" platform, enhances its technical level. It not only possesses the rich teaching and research strength and leading technological resource advantages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, but also serves as an innovative and creative base combining research and practice for the university's schools of architecture, planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and media design.

As a scientific research and design unit controlled by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SJTUDRI has strong scientific research and technical strength and superior political, economic, and cultural information and technical resources, and has a relatively accurate grasp of national and local policies and development strategies. The talent strategy and organizational structure featuring multi-disciplinary integration enable us to be adept at theoretical and practical research at all levels and stages of engineering construction projects, especially in architectural design, urban-rural planning, urban design, and in fields such as urban economy, society, space, environment, land, infrastructure, and even residential and large public buildings, where we can assemble diverse technical teams. In recent years, under the leadership of the National University Science Park of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, we have been committed to building national science and technology industrial parks. In Shanghai, Nanjing, Jiaxing, Chuzhou, Jiangyin, Zhengzhou and other provinces and cities, renowned national science and technology industrial parks have been established, making significant contributions to local governments' industrial structure adjustment and social development.

Over the past nearly 30 years, as the joint platform of "industry-academia-research" for Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SJTUDRI has worked closely with various schools and departments of the university, emphasizing the cultivation of academic atmosphere and the pursuit of excellence in design works, and has always paid attention to theoretical and practical developments in the design field at home and abroad, applying the latest achievements to specific engineering projects. In recent years, SJTUDRI has undertaken a large number of design projects and has won numerous awards, among which the art plaza design of Kunming World Expo Park won the National Excellent Design Silver Award.

Currently, the institute has 215 employees, including 1 academician, 32 with doctoral degrees, 55 with master's degrees, 42 with senior professional titles, 68 with intermediate professional titles, and 5 foreign designers. It possesses professional and technical talents in regional economy, urban-rural planning, construction engineering, municipal landscape, interior design, structure and equipment, and can provide full-process integrated design consulting services including project feasibility studies, planning reports, urban-rural planning, architectural design, structural design, mechanical and electrical design, interior design, landscape architecture, engineering design general contracting, and project management.
