Giesecke+Devrient Group of Germany is a world-renowned provider of banknote printing, banking equipment, smart cards and system solutions. It was founded in 1852 in Leipzig, Germany, and has a history of more than 160 years. Its headquarters is located in Munich, Germany. At present, it prints banknotes for central banks in more than 70 countries around the world, provides banknote paper, security anti-counterfeiting technology and cash processing equipment to more than 100 countries, and also provides IC cards and systems to many countries around the world. Today, Giesecke+Devrient has developed into a global market leader in banknote printing, mobile security and government solutions, and is also an innovator in product solutions, with 58 branches in 32 countries around the world.
In 1994, the Mobile Security Division of Giesecke+Devrient Group officially entered the Chinese market. After 20 years of development, Jieda China has now become the Asia-Pacific operation center of Giesecke+Devrient Group, its global card body manufacturing center and one of its four global R&D centers. To date, the company has invested more than US$62 million in China, and has built modern factories and personalization centers in Huangshi, Hubei, Nanchang, Jiangxi, Shanghai and other places, with a total area of more than 62,000 m2, an average annual capacity of about 930 million cards and personalization units, and more than 1,700 employees. It has branches in more than a dozen cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xi'an and Shenyang. Its sales and technical support network covers the whole country and the Asia-Pacific region, and its customers are distributed across various important industries. It has cumulatively supplied more than 4 billion cards and related system services to industries such as banking, public transportation, rail transit, social security, health, communications, petroleum and petrochemicals, and electronic equipment.
