塘栖，京杭大运河上的*古镇，为保护历史遗存，恢复塘栖风华，随着杭州运河综保工程延伸到余杭段，余杭区政府、杭州市运河综保委、塘栖镇政府三方共同出资于2008年2月20日正式注册成立杭州余杭运河综合保护开发建设有限公司。公司以党的十七大精神为动力，以科学发展观为统领，坚持“还河于民、申报世遗、打造*旅游产品”三大目标，坚持“高起点规划、高强度投入、高标准建设、高效能管理”四高方针，积极启动实施塘栖古镇保护与开发建设。
