云南建投第二水利水电建设有限公司始建于1983年，前身为中国有色十四冶机械化工程公司，2016年云南省委省政府为贯彻落实党中央国务院关于全面深化国企改革，推动国企做大做强的重大战略部署，更好的主动融入和服务国家“一带一路”和云南省“五网”建设，推动原云南建工集团、十四冶建设集团和西南交建集团整合重组为云南省建设投资控股集团有限公司，公司按照云南建投集团“大重组、大整合、大融合、大发展”的要求，于2016年7月6日变更登记为云南建投第二水利水电建设有限公司，现为云南省建设投资控股集团有限公司下属的国有独资施工总承包企业，是云南建投集团重点打造的水利水电专业板块。
