Beijing Equity Exchange was established in February 2004 as a comprehensive property rights trading institution approved by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. Over its continuous development, it has been progressively positioned as the "market-oriented tool for government economic management," the "sunshine platform for preventing corruption at the source," and the "important builder and operator of Beijing's factor markets."

Since its establishment, CBEX has consistently adhered to the dual principles of "standardization" and "innovation," upholding the principles of "openness, fairness, and justice." It actively serves central enterprises, local state-owned enterprises, and the trading of public-related assets. Its business scope covers the transfer of state-owned property rights, capital increases and share expansions of state-owned enterprises, asset transfers of state-owned enterprises and administrative institutions, housing leasing of state-owned enterprises, disposal of litigation assets, and various other public resource transactions. It has played a significant role in maintaining and increasing the value of state-owned assets, supporting the mixed-ownership reform of state-owned enterprises, implementing the policies of "cutting overcapacity, reducing excess inventory, deleveraging, lowering costs, and strengthening weak links," and expanding strategic emerging industries.

On this basis, CBEX actively responds to the central government's call to support the development of private enterprises and regional economies. Leveraging the credibility of the property rights market and its investment banking service capabilities, it has conducted non-state-owned equity transactions, merger and acquisition restructuring of listed companies, tourism resource trading, sports industry resource trading, debt asset trading, investment promotion for local governments, and cross-border merger and acquisition financing, effectively promoting the high-quality development of the real economy.

Simultaneously, focusing on the construction of Beijing's factor market system, CBEX has established professional trading platforms such as China Technology Exchange, Beijing Financial Assets Exchange, and Beijing Green Exchange, as well as support service institutions like Beijing Registration and Settlement Co., Ltd. By establishing a group-based operational structure, it has expanded its business scope to include technology, financial products, environmental rights, and green finance. This has achieved "full expansion" in the types of factor transactions, effectively improving the allocation level and utilization efficiency of various factor resources. It plays an important role in assisting government departments in economic management, advancing ecological civilization construction, supporting Beijing's development as a national science and technology innovation center, and promoting the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, reflecting the essential requirements of finance serving the real economy. The trading scale of the CBEX Group has grown from over 20 billion yuan at its inception, surpassing 10 trillion yuan in 2021, setting a new historic high, and has become the central market and an outstanding institution in the national factor trading market.

The grand blueprint depicted by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China provides broad development space for the growth of the CBEX Group.
