墨江金矿位于哀牢山中段的墨江哈尼族自治县癸能办事处金厂梁子,墨江金矿,史称坤勇金矿,始于明朝末期,至今已有350余年的开采历史。清朝年间,矿工达2000余人,年产金2000余两,曾是清代7大金矿之一,是一个大型原生金矿床,同时伴生有氯化镍、银、钴、硒、硫等,矿区附近还有大型风化壳硅酸、镍、石棉、蛇纹岩等综合矿藏资源。现探明黄金工业储量为27吨。
