长江证券股份有限公司前身为湖北证券公司，成立于1991年3月18日，注册地为武汉。2000年2月23日，经中国证监会核准批复，公司增资扩股至10.29亿元，同时更名为“长江证券有限责任公司”。2001年12月，经中国证监会核准批复，公司增资扩股至20亿元。2007年12月19日，经中国证监会批复，公司更名为“长江证券股份有限公司”，并于12月27日正式在深圳证券交易所挂牌上市，股票代码为00078*。公司已初步完成证券类控股集团的架构，旗下拥有长江证券承销保荐有限公司、长江期货有限公司、长信基金管理有限责任公司和诺德基金管理有限公司四家控参股子公司。公司已在全国17个省市、自治区，33个城市设立了60多家分支机构，逐步形成了覆盖全国的业务网络。
