浙江机器人产业集团是由浙江省政府批复成立，由启迪智能集团、宁波市智能制造产业研究院、宁波工业投资集团、余姚姚江科技投资开发公司等多个国资主体和研发机构在2017年2月联合发起，注册资金10亿元。集团以 “产业+资本+研究”的三轮驱动发展模式，按照“总部基地产业集聚、生态企业协同提升、智造业务共揽共建、产业基金以投促引”的运营模式，旨在培育和孵化机器人及智能科技领域企业，以推动余姚、宁波乃至长三角区域制造业转型升级和智能经济高质量发展。
