公司的前身为一汽东光离合器厂以下简称“一东厂”。一东厂成立于1993年2月11日,是由中国*汽车集团公司以下称甲方与吉林东光精密机械厂以下称乙方,现更名为吉林东光集团有限公司共同出资组建的国有企业,1997年11月26日经国家体改委体改生1997187号文批准,由甲方和乙方联合发起,对一东厂进行股份制改组,并以募集发行方式设立“长春一东离合器股份有限公司”。
1998年4月7日经中国证监会发字199851号文件批准,向社会公开发行A股2,000万股含公司职工股200万股1998年4月16日通过上海证券交易所证券交易系统上网公开发行社会公众股票1,800万股,向公司职工配售200万股1998年5月20日公司股票正式在上海证券交易所挂牌交易。
