Shanghai Noah Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in September 2016 and is an innovative medical technology enterprise focusing on the development and clinical application of Irreversible Electroporation (IRE) technology. Based on independently controllable core technologies, the company continuously engages in the precise, minimally invasive, and function-preserving treatment of difficult solid tumors.
In terms of product registration and industrialization, Noah Medical has achieved a series of milestone results:
- In April 2021, the composite steep pulse therapeutic device for prostate tumor ablation obtained the Class III medical device registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), becoming an innovative product that applies high-frequency irreversible electroporation technology to prostate cancer treatment;
- In September 2023, the IRE-based product for benign prostatic hyperplasia, "Noah Medical Airy® BPH", obtained the NMPA Class III medical device registration certificate, which is a significant breakthrough of IRE technology in the field of benign diseases;
- In 2024, the company's products received FDA Breakthrough Device designation and obtained CE certification for the prostate cancer indication in the European Union, and were also included in the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization's "Recommended Innovative Products Catalog" and "New High-Quality Medical Device Catalog";
- In January 2025, the composite steep pulse therapeutic device and disposable ablation electrode needles obtained import medical device circulation permits from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia;
- In December 2025, products obtained import medical device circulation permits from the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency;
- In December 2025, the composite steep pulse therapeutic device was officially approved by the NMPA for "ablation treatment of malignant solid liver tumors", marking the entry of IRE technology into the standardized and compliant clinical application stage in the field of liver cancer.
The company's comprehensive strength has also received high recognition from national and local authorities. Noah Medical is a national "Little Giant" enterprise specializing in new technologies, a national high-tech enterprise, and also a Shanghai specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprise, a Shanghai patent pilot enterprise, and a corporate R&D institution of Pudong New Area. The company has successively received multiple honors, including the Excellence Award of the 11th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition National Competition, the 2022 Shanghai Top 50 Potential Investment Value, the 2022 First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, the 2022 Second Prize in the "Maker China" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2024 Second Prize of the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the 2024 Second Prize of the Shanghai Industry-University-Research Collaboration Excellent Project Award, and the recommendation as a medical device product in the "2025 Yangtze River Delta Selection of Excellent Domestic Medical Equipment and Consumables".
As of August 2025, the company has filed a total of 109 patent and software copyright applications, with 72 granted patents, including 47 invention patents. It has cumulatively undertaken and completed more than ten national and provincial/ministerial-level scientific research projects. The company aims to continuously expand the application of IRE technology in indications with high requirements for the protection of important structures such as blood vessels, bile ducts, and nerves. In addition to prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and liver cancer, it is steadily laying out multiple product pipelines for pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer, and COPD.
