鹤山市人民医院始建于1933年，现已发展成为一间集医疗、教学、科研、急救、预防、保健、康复、社区卫生服务于一体的公立二级甲等综合性医院，开放床位611张。现有员工1011人，其中高级职称132人。年门诊量100万人次，年住院病人2.4万人次。鹤山市委市政府以三甲医院标准全额投资建设的鹤山市人民医院新院区占地125亩，床位800-1200张，准备启动整体搬迁。并已经启动创建三甲医院工作，与中山大学孙逸仙纪念医院、中山大学第五附属医院、中山大学第六附属医院、南方医科大学珠江医院等签订了专科共建战略合作协议。
